Fallbrook has always been home for me. I met Travis in Tucson, AZ while I was going to college. Since I've graduated and moved back home, he has spent a great deal of time in Fallbrook, but it always felt like MY home and not his. That is until the first time we walked into FCF back in March. I will admit, I was a little skeptical, being little Fallbrook and all, but I was immediately taken by the vibrant, fun atmosphere. I remember walking out of the gym asking Travis, "Did Fallbrook just get cool?" We quickly became avid 6 am-ers and when my alarm goes off at 5:36 I am actually excited (scared to death) to find out what the WOD will be that day. I came from a big box gym but honestly CANNOT imagine going back to that environment. I feel more energetic, fit, and tough than ever before but more importantly, I have FUN working out. How many people running on a treadmill can say that? We say it all the time, but FCF truly feels like family. Our strengths and weaknesses are never as apparent as they are during a workout, but there is a sense of unconditional acceptance that makes it a very special place for both of us. And best of all, Fallbrook Crossfit has helped the "friendly village" become HOME for Travis.
I have been doing crossfit for nearly two years, on and off, and have had nothing but positive results physically, mentally and socially. The people at Fallbrook Crossfit have done more to reinforce these qualities than any other gym I have been to. Charlie, aka Honey Badger/HB, makes the 6:00 am class something to actually look forward to. Not only with his attentive coaching but also with his ridiculous sense of humor. Roman is also an amazing part of the crossfit experience at FCF. Thanks to the two of them, I have felt more at home in Fallbrook than ever before. Even the other members have given me more than I could have ever imagined. The entire gym has made me more accountable and harder working than ever before with their endless encouragement. I have enjoyed every part of FCF, aside from getting my butt kick by numerous "girls" in the WODs. Thank you all for making this experience so much fun.
